Athelstone
24P is a dedicated HAZMAT appliance that still has the capability
to respond to a variety of emergencies including: Structure Fires;
Grass/Scrub Fire; or any other emergency excluding Road Crash Rescue.
By having both a 24P and 34P appliance it has allowed the brigade
to separate out the speciality HAZMAT and Road Crash Rescue equipment.
Athelstone 24P is also the primary appliance when the need for a
Strike Team arises from East Torrens Group.

Tanker is an appliance with a multitude of uses as it can be utilised
as: a bulk water carrier; a direct firefighting unit; an air support
appliance; or a combination of all three. While one of the oldest
appliances within Athelstone it still continues to play a vital
role within the emergency responses dealt with by Athelstone CFS.
