One of the responsibilities of Athelstone CFS is to respond to road accidents. Our role as a rescue brigade can range from dealing with minor accidents involving fuel spillage to major accidents involving entrapment.

Some 20% of the total SA Country Fire Service (CFS) emergency responses are to Road Crash type incidents. Road Crash incident scenes present a range of different hazards as apposed to a wildfire or structure fire response. This can include traffic, downed electrical wires, fire, unstable vehicles and spilt fuel.
