Athelstone Siren
The Athelstone Siren is located near Wadmore Park on Maryvale Road, Athelstone.
The siren will be activated as a warning to the community when there is a potential or imminent threat to life and property in the local area.
When activated, the siren will sound a continuous tone for a period of three minutes.
The community and visitors to the area should not rely on the siren as their sole source of warning of a bushfire or other emergency in the area. Athelstone CFS strongly recommends the use of a variety of sources of emergency information including listening to radio broadcasts, the CFS website, smart phone applications and social media feeds. The CFS website at www.cfs.sa.gov.au has further information on how to access emergency warning information and staying informed about incidents.
A weekly test of the siren will be conducted at 7:00pm each Wednesday, when the siren will be sounded for approximately 30 seconds.
